Clare Malone Prichard for Pismo Beach City Council
Clare moved to Pismo Beach in 2018 and quickly found the strong sense of community and belonging that made it feel like home. That connection inspired her to find meaningful ways to give back to the community she had come to care so much about.
Clare was appointed to the Pismo Beach Planning Commission in 2021 and has served as Chair since 2023. She brings more than 25 years of experience as a practicing, licensed architect. Her professional knowledge of architecture, design, and development informs her work on the City’s project reviews.
Throughout her architectural career, Clare has worked with city officials and developed a deep understanding of how thoughtful planning can shape a community. She brought that experience to the City’s recent General Plan and Local Coastal Plan update, helping plan for Pismo Beach’s future while respecting the character of the community residents value.
Her professional experience brought Clare to public service. Her commitment to Pismo Beach is what keeps her there.
Service on the Planning Commission has given Clare a strong understanding of how local government works, along with the experience and perspective needed to represent the interests of Pismo Beach residents.
She believes public service requires honesty, integrity, fairness, and a willingness to listen. If elected, Clare will take the time to understand the issues, ask thoughtful questions, encourage open and balanced discussion, and listen to residents before making decisions.
Clare is running for Pismo Beach City Council because her experience, knowledge, and commitment can help make the community an even better place to live, work, and visit. Her goal is to help ensure Pismo Beach remains a place residents are proud to call home.
